Anni has lived on the Mornington Peninsula and surrounding environs for many years. In her art practice she is interested in observing and recording details whilst working within contemporary contexts. Her works are a response to local natural environments and beyond, reflecting on the mood and memory of a place. Anni uses varied materials and processes, often mixing the media. Some of her charcoal drawings begin with pencil sketches and watercolour washes which develop through the layers.
Anni’s recent artworks express the experimental diversity of media and the rhythmic exchange between land and water; they evolve from real and imagined environmental scenarios. Some are depicted because they are under threat of extinction and others for the intriguing complexity of their ecology.
